Lady Leadership Forms at BHS

Eric Gross Young women comprise more than 25 percent of the corps of cadets enrolled in the Brewster High School NJROTC (Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) Chapter.

Junior Kayssa DaSilva has formed a new initiative this year called Lady Leadership. Kayssa said 26 girls were proud members of the 126-student unit. Lady Leadership has united the women members of the corps by promoting female self-empowerment. Kayssa said the group meets every two weeks by welcoming a “female motivational speaker.”

During its most recent meeting, the young women created 90 Valentines Day cards for veterans presented to the Brewster American Legion for distribution this week at area Veterans Administration operated hospitals.
